WHAT IS SCRIP?

Scrip is a gift certificate or card that can be used at participating stores, gas stations, restaurants etc. When you buy scrip, you have just purchased a gift certificate or card for that particular store/gas station/restaurant etc. Our school is able to purchase the scrip gift certificates/cards from Great Lakes Scrip Center and other vendors at a discount and in turn, sell them to customers at full price. The discount varies depending on the store but averages 4%-5% which then becomes profit.

HOW IS SCRIP USED?

The customer gets dollar for dollar value using scrip. For example, if you purchase $100 in scrip cards for Meijer, you pay $100. You then receive $100 Meijer gift cards to spend. Since the school has purchased the $100 scrip for $95, the school profit is 5% or $5. Each store may have a few restrictions like a minimum of change returned to you.

HOW DO I PURCHASE SCRIP?

Scrip is not only easy to use, but also easy to order. Orders can be placed on Sundays at Trinity Lutheran Church or Wednesday from 8:00 – 8:30 at the desk in the school office. You may also drop the order in the drop box located across from the office, on the right hand side, of the entryway at any time. Make sure to include your Scrip order form and payment in the envelope. You will be contacted when your order is ready for pickup. If you want your scrip sent with your child please let the committee know by signing a form stating your request. This form is available by request at wslsscrip@gmail.com.

WHERE DO I PICK UP MY SCRIP?

Scrip may be picked up on Sundays at Trinity Lutheran Church or at the Scrip desk in the office, on Wednesday morning from 8:00 – 8:30, during the regular school year.

Anyone can purchase scrip on your behalf. They may purchase scrip through you, online at www.shopwithscrip.com (instructions on the bottom if the scrip form) directly from the church office after Sunday service, at the scrip desk or by using the drop box across from the school office. Simply have the purchaser fill out the credit statement found on the bottom of all scrip order forms and 50% of the profit will be applied to your account. Monthly or quarterly payouts will be applied to your student’s account.

Take advantage of this easy way of shopping with scrip. By using scrip your account balance will be reduced and West Shore Lutheran School will benefit as well.
